Biography
Dr. Pamela Ohman Strickland is Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, School of Public Health. Prior to UMDNJ, she received her Ph.D. degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 1997 and was assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at University of Florida from 1997 to 2001. Her research interests in statistical methodology focus on the analysis of categorical data, inference using small data sets and analysis and study design of cluster randomized trials. In addition, she has interest in the applications of statistics to determining the effect of environmental factors on human health and studying the impact of characteristics of family medicine practices on patient care. Since 2001 she has served as Secretary of the Faculty for the School of Public Health at UMDNJ and serves on numerous committees, including the SPH Doctoral committee, the MPH admissions committee, and others. She also currently serves on the IRB at UMDNJ. Since 2002, she has served in several roles for the NJ Chapter of the American Statistical Society including Secretary, Symposium Program Chair and President. She received the SPH Student Teaching Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2002-2003 Academic Year and was inducted into the UMDNJ Master Educators Guild in 2004.
