| Biography |
| Dr. Michael
Hampsey has been a professor at UMDNJ - Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School since 1996. He is currently
Professor and Interim Chairman of the Department
of Biochemistry. Dr. Hampsey received his B.A.
degree in Chemistry from the State University of
New York at Geneseo in 1976 and Ph.D. from Purdue
University in 1982. Following postdoctoral training
in yeast genetics at the University of Rochester
Medical Center, he joined the faculty at Louisiana
State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport
in 1986. His research interests include the regulation
of gene expression and how chromatin structure
affects transcription. He has served on scientific
advisory panels at the National Institutes of Health,
the National Science Foundation and the American
Cancer Society. He is currently Associate Editor
of Genetics. |
