| Biography |
| Dr. Marc Rosenblum
is Associate Professor and Director of General
Dentistry and Biomaterials Research in the Department
of Restorative Dentistry, New Jersey Dental School.
He received a Ph.D. degree in Ceramic Engineering
from Rutgers University in 1971, and received a
D.M.D. degree from New Jersey Dental School in
1979. He has been a member of the American and
International Association of Dental Research since
1971 and he has been actively involved in dental
materials research since that time in both private
industry and the university setting. He had an
active general dentistry practice from 1979 to
1999. In 1980 he developed a new program for teaching
dental biomaterials at Columbia University School
of Dental and Oral Surgery, where he was a faculty
member for nine years. Since 1989, he has been
at UMDNJ and has continued to teach the course
in dental biomaterials. He also conducts laboratory
research in the area of dental ceramics, and clinical
research in the areas of tooth whitening and tooth
sensitivity. In the last six years he has received
over $1 million in research funding from the NIH
and industrial sources. He currently serves on
the IRB at UMDNJ, the Dental School Curriculum
Committee, and he is Chairman of the Research Committee
and the Restorative Materials Assessment Committee.
He received the Excellence in Teaching Award of
New Jersey Dental School for the 2001-2002 Academic
Year, and was inducted into the UMDNJ Master Educators
Guild in 2003. His primary research interests are
in the area of dental biomaterials (both laboratory
and clinical research). He is also actively involved
in course development and new teaching methodologies
for preclinic training of dental students. |
